Most Common Eurojackpot Numbers — Full Frequency Analysis

Eurojackpot draws 5 main numbers from 1–50 and 2 Euro Numbers from 1–12, every Tuesday and Friday. Since its launch in March 2012, the draw history now spans over 600 draws — enough to reveal which numbers have appeared most often and how the frequency picture compares to EuroMillions.

Eurojackpot main ball frequency — what the data shows

With 50 possible main balls and 5 drawn per game, each number has an expected frequency of 10% per draw (1-in-10 chance of appearing). Over 600+ draws since 2012, each number would be expected to appear roughly 60–70 times in a perfectly random game.

In practice, the actual draw counts cluster tightly around this expected value — confirming that Eurojackpot is statistically fair. The "most common" numbers are simply those that have run slightly above average so far.

Because Eurojackpot uses exactly the same main ball pool as EuroMillions (1–50), frequency comparisons between the two games are straightforward. Both show a broadly even distribution across the full range, with no persistent bias towards low or high numbers.

Eurojackpot Euro Numbers frequency

Euro Numbers are drawn from a pool of 1–12, with 2 drawn per game. Since March 2022 (when the format was updated from 1–8 to 1–12), the Euro Number pool matches EuroMillions Lucky Stars exactly.

Each Euro Number has a 1-in-6 chance of appearing per draw, meaning frequency differences are more visible than with main balls. Numbers in the 1–6 range have longer historical records (covering the pre-2022 draws when the pool was only 1–8) and may show higher all-time counts as a result.

Our statistics page shows Euro Number frequency separately, updated after every draw.

How Eurojackpot compares to EuroMillions frequency

Eurojackpot and EuroMillions now use identical formats — 5 from 50 main balls, 2 from 12 bonus numbers — which makes direct statistical comparison between the two games meaningful.

Key difference: EuroMillions has over 2,000 draws in its history (since 2004), giving a much larger dataset than Eurojackpot's 600+. EuroMillions frequency patterns are therefore more statistically stable, while Eurojackpot's shorter history means individual number frequencies can vary more from the expected average.

Despite the shorter history, Eurojackpot's frequency distribution for main balls is already closely aligned with the expected 10% per draw — consistent with a fair random draw.

Most overdue Eurojackpot numbers

With 50 main balls and 5 drawn per game, each number's average gap between appearances is approximately 10 draws. A number absent for 25+ draws is significantly overdue relative to its historical average.

Including 1–2 overdue numbers in your combination is the basis of the Stefan Mandel due-numbers strategy. Our live Eurojackpot statistics page lists the most overdue main balls and Euro Numbers, updated after every draw.

Frequently asked questions

What is the most common Eurojackpot number?

The most common Eurojackpot main ball changes as new draws are added. Visit our live Eurojackpot statistics page for exact current frequency counts updated after every Tuesday and Friday draw.

What is the most common Eurojackpot Euro Number?

Euro Numbers 1–8 have longer frequency histories because the pool was only 1–8 before March 2022. Since the pool expanded to 1–12, all 12 numbers are in play. See our Eurojackpot statistics page for current Euro Number frequency data.

How many Eurojackpot draws are in the database?

Our Eurojackpot database covers all draws from the first draw on 23 March 2012 through the present — over 600 draws in total. Tuesday draws were added from October 2014. Statistics are updated after every draw.

Is Eurojackpot frequency data comparable to EuroMillions?

Yes — since March 2022, both games use identical formats (5 from 50, 2 from 12). EuroMillions has a larger historical dataset (2,000+ draws vs 600+), but the statistical patterns are directly comparable.

Does playing the most common Eurojackpot numbers improve your odds?

No. Each draw is an independent random event and all combinations have equal probability. However, balancing frequently and infrequently drawn numbers is one of nine strategy dimensions scored in the Lottery Analyser.
